Patient support

Have you had pectus surgery?
Are you about to have pectus surgery?
Pectus Matters is partnering with MedicAlert to provide patients who have had pectus surgery with additional guidance and resources that will support them during their initial recovery period.

Pectus surgery is major surgery. Undergoing a procedure like the NUSS or Ravitch can be very painful and could cause patients to be out of action for several weeks or months. Physiotherapy and simple cardiovascular exercise are usually recommended post-op to assist with recovery and ease painful symptoms.

Surgery can cause complications which might make your recovery take longer or cause you to need further medical attention. As pectus surgery is specialised, we know that patients often travel long distances to have surgery, leaving them with limited support once they have been discharged to home.

Our post-op pack aims to support patients as they recover from pectus surgery by providing them with information, advice and physiotherapy resources created by medical experts.
